Custom-fit pop-up roof insulation with magnetic fastening for Mercedes Marco Polo (2014-until today) (W447) as thermal and acoustic insulation, blackout and windscreen protection. Thanks to extra-strong magnets in the hem, the Magnet-Thermomatten can be attached in a jiffy. Self-adhesive metal pads are stuck to the upper aluminium frame, to which the bellows is attached, as attachment points for the magnets. So no holes need to be drilled or any other permanent changes made to the vehicle. The self-adhesive metal pads can be removed at any time without residue if desired.
The blackout set for the pop-up roof consists of four parts that are connected with high-quality (durable) hook-and-loop fastener. When storing, the parts can remain connected or be separated to achieve a particularly compact size, for example. On the side Magnet-Thermomatten (large triangles), two ventilation flaps are built in equivalent to the bellows, which can be opened and closed with a zip.
Since the height of the pop-up roof varies slightly on each Marco Polo, the side parts of the insulation are made with excess at the bottom edge. The excess is simply folded towards the inside, so no cold bridge is created in this area.
